Top ten travel advice tips every potential tourist should know before travelling to Kenya

Below is a list of ten travel advice tips a tourist should be aware of before you enter Kenya:

1. If you are a national of a commonwealth country then you will not require a visa before entering to Kenya but US passport holders need a visa to enter. Kenyan Embassy in your country will provide you with additional information about visa requirements. A tourist can get a single-entry visa costs USD50 and a multiple entry visa USD100.

2. Most tourists usually ignore advice about getting the necessary immunizations before visiting a foreign country but to be on the safe side it would be wise to be immunized against typhoid, yellow fever and cholera. Get a doctor's prescription for the right anti-malarial medication because a risk of catching malaria in some parts of Kenya.

3. If you are a tourist with cameras and cash you have to be careful, the sight of a tourist with cash to spare and cameras dangling is too tempting for some. Violent muggings are quite rare but you don't face any more danger traveling in Africa than in other parts of the world.

4. Don't walk alone at night, taxis are available on almost every street. There are also buses and mini-vans that are an extremely cheap and secure form of transportation. You could always rent a car if to wish to drive yourself from place to place.

5. Always have a copy of your passport, ticket, credit card and traveler check numbers just incase you misplace any of your important documents while on safari.

6. The main tourist seasons are December-January and July-August, responding to international vacation schedules. In December, the best place to be in Kenya is the coastal areas because of the its the favourite vacation spot during the festive season. Temperatures are temperate all year. Day temperatures are typically between 20-30 c. or 65-85 F so if you love warm temperatures then you will love Kenya and Kenya will love you!!

7. Major credit cards are accepted by many Kenyan hotels, Kenya travel agencies, Kenya car rentals companies, Kenya airlines, restaurants, and city shops. It saves you as a tourist the trouble of having to walk around with huge wads of cash from one destination to another.

8. Kenya is not and does not even claim to be one the world's best eating places. But there are some good restaurants where you can get almost everything from Continental to Chinese, Italian savories, seafood, hot Indian, French and Mexican dishes.

9. There are several tourist guide books that give you additional information about Kenyan culture, politics, language and the best tourist locations that will make your trip a memorable one. Travel guide books will help provide an insight into what exactly Kenya has to offer for anyone who would like to get away from it all. And even though you may not be interested in travel to this part of Africa, it will still be a good piece of reading material.

10. Shopping in Kenya is more about bargaining than much else. Almost everywhere, anything and everything is bargain-able. Don't feel odd doing it - you are expected to do this. Everything is marked up for tourists so,polish up your haggling skills before you buy a Kenyan artifact.

Site Build It! Well I hope my top ten list will be of some help to any person interested in visiting Kenya. I have really pruned out what I think is unnecessary (boring) information so as to keep it as short and simple as possible.
