Zoo-YorkA division of Marc Ecko Enterprises, Zoo-York is the largest action sports company on the east coast of America. It began in 1993 but the history of the name goes back much further. This clothing line is an artistic style and social philosophy inspired by the New York City graffiti art sub-culture of the 1970s. Its name originates from a subway tunnel running underneath the area of the Central Park Zoo. This tunnel, simply called Zoo-York was a haunt of very early "old school" graffiti writers. The term Zoo York has come to firmly symbolize New York City's underground sect of artists, b-boys, skateboarders, punks, and their various creative off-shoots.
